Okay, stuff happens...

Well, you are going to laugh at me, or should I say laugh with me... 'cause believe me, I'm laughing (and so are my girls...)

I can't believe it, but we actually went to Whistler for our little family get-away on the wrong weekend. Yup. Got to the hotel and they said they didn't have a reservation. I said "Yes you do. I have a confirmation." They said "No you don't." I said, "I'll go get my confirmation from the van." I went and looked at my confirmation and there it was in black and white - Feb. 24 - 25. We were a week early.

So, that means this coming weekend we are going away on a little family get-away. (Call last weekend a 'practice' vacation.) We won't be home, and Paul is joining Wanda in Alberta to do a youth worship thing, so I guess that means this weekend is not going to happen at the Moore's or the Siggelkow's. That leaves the Jakab or the Harper residence if you so desire...

But I promise that next week, Sunday, March 5th will happen at the Siggelkow's at 5:30 PM. Paul and Wanda probably won't make it due to involvement in Youth Leader's Timeout, but hopefully the rest of us can get together! Just promise me you won't laugh too hard at me, er, with me to my face!

Urban Ministries Team

Hello,
Yes, I will find normal friends for a change. Lol. So March 6 -8th the ministry wants me to attend the Conference at APA. So I think that I will get approval from my work to take Tuesday and Wednesday off. Talked to Paul, so Darcy I am here to help. Just let me know.

Hunger Pains

"We excel at making a living but often fail at making a life.
We celebrate our prosperity but yearn for purpose.
We cherish our freedom but long for connection.
In an age of plenty, we feel spiritual hunger."
~ David G Myers

Sunday - Feb 12th

Hey everyone, here's the scoop:

Time: 5:30 PM
Place: Paul & Wanda's
Food: Pot luck
Focus: What ever is on your heart...

For a great read, check out the transcript of Bono's sermon at the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC. It's on Paul's blog. I was moved, man!

Confessions of a UGM Worker

Today, at 11:30 am I arrived on site a little hungry. I went in to get my morning coffee and to all horrors saw muffins laying out on the table. A cool chill lingered in the air, I saw the innocent little carb infused tricket and took a bite. To my surprise and shock, one can not take a tricket, no not even seem like you want one. For people can be fired for taking the donations not at scheduled time. I am guilty as charged. Candice, the tricket slayer. I confessed to my Lord, now to enter the dangerous land, where the Kitchen rules and I must abide.

The audacity of it all,

The Guilty One,

Candice

Satisfaction

Hello,

Today, I have notice I am extremely satisfied where I am becuase of the circumstances I have endured. However, things have not been going well, not at all. On the contrary if anyone asked what I really wanted out of life, I could not state my circumstances have helped me achieve my desires. Yet, my circumstances are stirring me in the direction the Lord would have me on, to learn the journey is the most important aspect to my life. The only reason I believe the former statement is because of the overwhelming peace, peace which brings true satisfaction, not an addiction to things on this earth.

I must confess I am happy with my Lord!
